Happy new year!
Back to reality today after two absolutely amazing weeks off with my little family. I spent a few hours on the weekend (in-between prepping for our return to the real world) reflecting back on the holiday season while editing photos and realized I took so many pictures over the past six weeks it would be easiest to break this up to two posts. So for today, here are our pre-Christmas highlights!
Our holiday season kicked off as always with my MIL’s family Christmas party. The kids get to watch a magician, get balloon animals, and of course have a few moments with Santa himself. I think Cordelia would have been happy to just cuddle with him all day. Bobby was a lot more pragmatic and did a great job of feigning excitement over his present which was obviously not a remote control Nerf Tank. He was legitimately excited once he started putting together the Lego Star Wars figure that he did receive though. ♥ After the party we headed over to Hallmark so the kids could pick out their ornaments for the year. Cordelia picked a Barbie Ballerina and Bobby picked a Minecraft Creeper – both fit them perfectly for 2017.
Cordelia had her first ballet recital at the Festival of Trees, and all of the kids did such a great job. They had quite the audience and I know I would have been nervous to be up there but they were all smiles. After her performance we walked around and took in the sights, and the kids got to eat their decorated gingerbread cookies.
It truly is the most wonderful time of the year and I’m sad that it’s already over. Only 327 days until December 1, 2018!
