blinc discovery collection

blinc discovery collectionBlinc isn’t a company I was familiar with, so I was interested when asked if I wanted to review the Blinc Box Discovery Collection. It arrived with the cutest little mascara wand cookie ever, which was promptly eaten. The set contains 4 deluxe samples: Mascara Amplified, Eyebrow Mousse, Eye Shadow Primer & Eyeliner Pencil, each packaged in it’s own little tin tube, and is available for $44.00 CAD.

Mascara Amplified | Black | 0.10 oz
blinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblincAfter almost a decade in development, blinc mascara AMPLIFIED provides incredible, buildable, glamorous volume and length, all while offering the Life Proof properties our original blinc mascara, which women have grown to love and depend upon. Buildable, glamorous volume and length while forming tiny water-resistant “tubes” around your lashes that cannot run, smudge, clump or flake and slide off with a combination of water and gentle pressure.

It’s like magic. No clumping, goes on beautifully and removes so easily! I have had no issues removing it with the rest of my eye makeup using my favourite makeup removing oil, or if I’m only wearing mascara… It comes right off in the shower. Instantly one of my top 5 mascaras! It is also available in Dark Brown.

Eyebrow Mousse | Light Brunette | 0.06 oz
blinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionOur Fountain of Youthful Color Eyebrow Mousse is a unique and innovative brow makeup designed to give enhancing, water-resistant and moisturizing color to your eyebrows. Makeup re-application is never required with blinc Eyebrow Mousse. Like all blinc products, you get all-day, no-smudge wear with this brow makeup. blinc eyebrow mousse is the original brow innovation that does 4 things in just one easy step. It tints with water proof color, holds and sculpts like a gel, fills in sparse areas and moisturizes skin all at the same time.

The only thing unfortunate about this box is that it isn’t customizeable – and the eyebrow mousse is very light. The full size is available in a range of shades as well as clear though, and when I tested it I did find that it kept my eyebrows in place.

Eye Shadow Primer | Light Tone | 0.06 oz
blinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionOur Fountain of Youthful Color Eye Shadow Primer allows you to have crease-free shadow all day, while providing your skin with anti-aging benefits at the same time. In addition to superior hold, blinc’s primer for eye shadow contains anti-aging ingredients that clinical studies have shown to decrease fine lines after just six weeks by 67% and increase skin’s moisture after just one week by 53%.

My new favourite eye primer! I love the super-soft doe foot applicator, and that the shade is slightly lighter than my skintone. My eyeshadow stays in place all day without creasing… and if it happened to decrease fine lines, that would be an added bonus!

Eyeliner Pencil | Black | 0.03 oz
blinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc discovery collectionblinc’s eyeliner pencil offers unsurpassed hold while conditioning and treating skin at the same time. The blinc eyeliner pencil was created to feature water proof, smudge proof, fade proof color that makes it one of the longest wearing pencils available. blinc eyeliner pencil glides onto lids effortlessly and offers intense, all day, water proof color that cannot smudge or fade. The creamy, formula contains vitamins for anti-aging conditioning.

It’s a nice liner – I don’t know about the anti-aging claim but it did glide on without tugging or pulling – it didn’t work so well in my waterline, but it stayed in place nicely when I smudged it on my lower lash line.

murad white brilliance

murad2I have spoken often about how frustrated I am with the pregnancy mask that never went away, and how I have been on the hunt for products that will help… the new Murad White Brilliance collection focuses specifically on hyperpigmentation and uneven texture and tone – it’s like this line was made for me. I have super short reviews for each product below, because I have been using them together I can’t speak to what the serum and essence have done individually… I can say that overall since adding these products to my routine 3-4 weeks ago, I think my skin feels smoother, looks brighter, and I haven’t had any negative reactions.

I honestly think I have found my winning combo. I will be putting off reviewing new skincare products (except moisturizers… I love new moisturizers) for a while because I want to give my skin a few months with these and maybe… just maybe… I’ll be able to go foundation free this summer! If I am successful I will be sure to post about it, because it would be a huge win for me.

all three of these products are vegan, gluten-free and tested on people, not animals ♥

I am in love with this cleanser. I have been using it for about a month now with my Clarisonic and it leaves my skin feeling clean but not at all dried out. Usually I have to apply my serums and lotions immediately after cleansing, but I don’t feel rushed to after using this. I love the twist cap packaging and the light floral scent – it smells like something you’d find in a spa. It retails for $43 CAD at Sephora.

White Brilliance Luminous Essence 1.7 oz | $70 CAD
murad white brilliancemurad white brillianceThis light-enhancing essence, infused with precious, skin-illuminating Porcelain Flower Extract, exfoliates and hydrates to restore youthful texture and luminosity.

Designed for normal to dry skin but safe for sensitive skin, the White Brilliance collection is also dermatologist developed, scientifically advanced and features potent ingredients that enhance skin’s translucence for a luminous and glowing complexion.

Red Algae and Indian Fig work together to exfoliate and support natural renewal to enhance smoothness
Kunai Root Extract, rich in electrolytes, speeds up rehydration

Aqua, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Urea, Yeast Amino Acids, Trehalose, Inositol, Taurine, Betaine, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hoya Lacunosa Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Opuntia Ficus-Indica Flower Extract, Linoleic Acid, Ahnfeltiopsis Concinna Extract, Imperata Cylindrica Root Extract, glycerin, PEG-8, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Fruit Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Lens Esculenta (Lentil) Fruit Extract, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Glucosamine HCI, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Extract, Zinc Gluconate, Butylene Glycol, Ascorbic Acid, Chitosan, Propyl Gallate, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Xanthan Gum, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Disodium EDTA, Benzyl Salicylate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Parfum

I have been using this right after washing my face. The texture is very thin and watery, and absorbs very quickly. vanity tour

Vanity TourSpring seems to have finally arrived, and with that comes spring cleaning! We spent the weekend purging and organizing and while there is still a lot left to do, I managed to mostly organize the most important thing – my vanity. I always love seeing how other people set up their makeup stations, and since mine is currently as organized as it’s ever been… I thought I would share it!

I saw this IKEA shelf (which doesn’t appear to be available anymore) on Pinterest and tasked my amazing husband with picking it up and mounting it for me. He also grabbed me a decent size round mirror, but I needed a makeup mirror… after looking at a bunch online I went with a double sided Jerdon lighted mirror. It has 3 light settings and one side is 8x magnified – it’s absolutely fantastic.

On my vanity I keep my brushes, current skincare products, newest lipsticks, and all the makeup I use daily. Under the glass top I keep the majority of my eyeshadow palettes, and smaller items that I use regularly, or still need to review.

Vanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity Tour

I had been storing all of the makeup that didn’t fit on my vanity in boxes all over the house, it wasn’t pretty – so in the fall I bought a 5 drawer IKEA Alex. It’s not as organized as I want it to be, but it’s getting there. On top I have the perfumes I use most often, seasonal shades of nail polish, and jewelry. In the top drawer I keep all of my hair brushes, bobby pins, elastics… etc, as well as makeup remover and smaller items that need a home . Second drawer is eyeshadow and compacts, third is lipsticks and eyeliners – it’s the drawer I need to organize the most, because there are so many products buried that I forget about… fourth is mostly nails, but some of my Demeter fragrances as well, and in my bottom drawer are my hair tools, and anything larger that just needs a home.
Vanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourVanity TourAnd all of that is why my no buy needs to start again, because I am almost needing another Alex! How do you store your makeup? Any tips on how I can get more organized?
