Hi everyone! I know my posting has been extremely sporadic over the past few months and I do apologize, life has been more than hectic. I just got back from a trip to the beautiful St. Johns, Newfoundland (My first time seeing the ocean – I will have pics up tomorrow!!) and I feel so rejuvenated. I will definitely try to put more energy in to posting going forward!
Champagne Pop is a collab between Becca and YouTube superstar / blending queen Jaclyn Hill. It is sold out everywhere, but I love it so much that on the off chance it happens to become permanent one day… I wanted to share my thoughts!
Honestly, even the day of release – I wasn’t that excited. I love Jacyln Hill and I love highlighters, but I have a bunch that I use regularly and really like so I was feeling a bit *meh* about it. As the day progressed and the CBB ladies kept talking about it… I found myself wanting it more and more, until I was refreshing like mad hoping that I was able to get it, and I’m so glad I got caught up in the hysteria.
What it is:
A limited-edition, creamy, luminizing powder to illuminate the face with a soft, pearlized glow.
What it does:
BECCA collaborated with YouTube beauty celebrity and makeup artist Jaclyn Hill to create a new limited-edition shade of their number one bestselling luminizer powder. Featuring her dream shade, Champagne Pop—a soft white, gold shade with pinky peach undertones—this creamy luminizer leaves the skin with a soft pearlized glow. It’s infused with light-reflecting pearls that beautifully catch the light, allowing your favorite features to pop. Just apply to targeted areas, or simply sweep it up on the cheekbones and down the bridge of the nose for quick, radiant perfection.
It’s unlike any other highlighter I have – and from every review and swatch I’ve seen, It’s beautiful on everyone. (Check it out on Chelle over at Makeup Your Mind – though everything looks amazing on her) I typically have to apply a few layers of highlighter until I’m happy – with this, I’m tapping off product before applying because it is so extremely pigmented. It blends beautifully and it makes my cheekbones pop like nothing else has. In direct light it’s anything but subtle, but once I’m indoors it just gives me a nice glow – the last 3 photos show direct sunlight, slightly indirect sunlight, and then completely indirect sunlight. It also works very well as an under the brow / inner corner highlight.
If you weren’t able to get your hands on Champagne Pop but really wish you had, Temptalia posted a comparison of Champagne Pop vs. Moonstone and Opal layered – and they look very similar! This is the first Becca product I’ve ever tried, but it certainly won’t be the last!
