bite beauty mauvember luminous crème lipstick

bite beauty mauvember luminous crème lipstickThe hairiest month of the year has arrived, and Bite Beauty is celebrating it with a limited edition lipstick inspired by Founder Susanne Langmuir’s father beating prostate cancer. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Movember, men all over the country shave their face and grow out their mustaches throughout November to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer. The Movember Foundation started in 2003 and has raised $677 million funding over 1,000 programs for mens issues focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. Over 5 million men now participate every year.

Some stats from Movember Canada
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian men.
Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young Canadian men aged 15 – 29
• About 11% of men in Canada will experience major depression in the course of their lives
• Only 1 in 4 Canadian men met the CSEP exercise guideline of 150 minutes per week

On to the lipstick – Mauvember is a beautifully unique mauve shade. With 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Movember campaign, I would have bought it even if it was a shade I had no intention of wearing – so the fact that it’s so pretty is a bonus! The organic fruit butters leaves my lips feeling really nice and hydrated and I love that it’s all natural (apparently healthy enough to eat). And just a note: This lipstick is only available at Sephora online in Canada!

  1. The idea behind this is genius and I’m so glad Bite jumped on the train. While Movember produces some absolutely hideous facial hair, at least some of us can do it in a slightly less gruesome way! 😉

Adorable shot of the ‘stache as well. hehe!

  2. I tried to find the lipstick but it says “page no longer exists”???

My husband is a prostate cancer survivor, 2yrs cancer free now. He was diagnosed at 46 so not your typical over 50 disease.

I am happy to keep him in my life a little while longer. 😊

    1. It looks like it’s sold out right now – hopefully they will get more in stock!

Congratulations to him on being 2 years cancer free! I wish you both many more years of health! I have been bugging my husband to go get checked because cancer runs in his family and even though we are in our 30s.. it still scares me.
