The hairiest month of the year has arrived, and Bite Beauty is celebrating it with a limited edition lipstick inspired by Founder Susanne Langmuir’s father beating prostate cancer. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Movember, men all over the country shave their face and grow out their mustaches throughout November to raise awareness and money for prostate cancer. The Movember Foundation started in 2003 and has raised $677 million funding over 1,000 programs for mens issues focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity. Over 5 million men now participate every year.
Some stats from Movember Canada
• Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Canadian men.
• Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in young Canadian men aged 15 – 29
• About 11% of men in Canada will experience major depression in the course of their lives
• Only 1 in 4 Canadian men met the CSEP exercise guideline of 150 minutes per week
On to the lipstick – Mauvember is a beautifully unique mauve shade. With 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Movember campaign, I would have bought it even if it was a shade I had no intention of wearing – so the fact that it’s so pretty is a bonus! The organic fruit butters leaves my lips feeling really nice and hydrated and I love that it’s all natural (apparently healthy enough to eat). And just a note: This lipstick is only available at Sephora online in Canada!
