canadian beauty bloggers (#bbloggersCA) tag

bbloggersCA tagHi Everyone! I’m feeling a bit uninspired blog wise lately. I have a ton of products that I bought during the Sephora VIB sale that I’ve swatched, taken pictures of, and have been using – but the desire to edit the photos and write reviews just isn’t there right now. Instead today I bring you a fun little tag c/o Shawna over at Spill The Beauty. I’ll include the list of questions at the bottom for anyone who would like to participate ♥

What was the first makeup item you ever purchased?
A lifetime ago! I’m sure it was black eyeliner though, because it was the 90s.

What colour/type of lipstick is taking over your collection?
Right now it’s pinks and peaches – because summer!

What is the best drug store brand item you have ever purchased?
Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Foundation – my review of it is here, it’s the best foundation I’ve ever used.

Name one high end item that is at the top of your wishlist and why
The 5 piece Kabuki Brush Kit from Sigma Beauty – because I am obsessed with brushes and I have heard so much about them.

Which beauty item do you have a hard time saying “no” to?
Eyeshadow palettes… need all of them!

Show us a picture of an item from your stash that has the best packaging.
So many to choose from – but I’ll have to go with my MAC Goddess lipstick from their Alluring Aquatic collection. It’s so unique – I still wish I owned more of it.macgoddess3

Which beauty technique would you like to master?
It’s a tie between winged eyeliner and contouring. Both are equally beautiful and frustrating.

What does your beauty storage station look like?
My husband mounted an Ekby Gruvan shelf to the wall for me and it’s perfect. I can see all of my makeup through the glass top, and it’s easy to clean. I’m not sure if IKEA carries it anymore as I can’t find it on their website.Makeup Storage

What is the best part of being a CBB?
The sense of community and the conversation – especially now with the Facebook page. Love being able to chat about makeup with beautiful and wonderful ladies all day!

Which brand do you WISH was available in Canada, but isn’t?
I know it’s not a brand – but I wish we had an Ulta here, and I wish Zoya shipped to Canada.

Explain your one beauty discovery that totally changed the makeup game for you
That investing in higher end makeup and brushes matters. There is nothing wrong with drugstore products, there are quite a few that are fantastic – but when you spend more you (usually) get what what you pay for!

Pick one palette from your collection – show us a picture of it, and tell us why you LOVE it
One?? I don’t know if I can do that… Maybe Tartelette because I can find a way to work it in to any look, even if it’s only applying Super Mom as a base.Tartelette

Name some of your favourite youtube beauty gurus
Wayne Goss is by far my favorite – Most beauty gurus are younger and it’s nice to have someone who understands older skin… not that my skin is old it’s just… not 20.

What is your ‘holy grail’ item and why?
Hard to narrow down but I’ll have to go with the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser – With 2 little ones there are plenty of nights when I don’t get enough sleep, and it’s the only thing that keeps me from looking like a zombie!

Lightning round!!!!!
Lipstick finish – matte or shine? Shine!
Nail polish – solid colour or glitter? Both!!
Foundation – liquid, solid, or powder? Liquid
Lip gloss or lip balm? Balm first, and then gloss or lipstick on top.

How about you? I’d love to see your answers – even if you aren’t part of the CBB. Feel free to link to your post so I can read, or post your answers in the comments below!

  1. I’ve been wanting that Sigma set as well! Almost went for it at IMATS, but when I saw the line for the Sigma booth I ran far, far away!

AND YES! MORE EYESHADOW PALETTES! 😀

    1. Ahh I’d love to go to IMATS. The price per brush really isn’t that bad – but I just know if I bought them my husband would not be happy with me lol! I already got the ‘how many brushes does one person need’ when I bought my bdellium kit. Might be a birthday gift to myself in a few months though.

  2. This is totally random, but today I went to put through an order on Zoya with my US shipping address and it let me put in my Canadian address and said shipping was $15. I still ended up shipping to my US mailing address because free haha, but maybe they do ship to Canada now and haven’t updated the info on their site?!
