I think I should change the tagline of my blog to ‘better late than never’, this month has completely gotten away from me. Obviously I have dropped the ball on my goal of posting 3x a week and I’ll write a post at some point about my current slump, but today I wanted to share highlights from our little Easter weekend.
It’s the first time since Christmas that we were able to spend this much time together as a family, and it was so wonderful. We played board games, painted eggs, watched movies, and of course had an egg hunt! Easter weekend is the only time I don’t have to bug the kids to clean their rooms or pick up their toys because we have told them the Easter Bunny only leaves eggs in clean rooms ♥.
Bobby loved the roller blades we surprised him with, though he still hasn’t had a chance to try them out because of the never-ending Alberta winter (we made sure to get him some indoor toys to play with too so he wasn’t too disappointed). Cordelia’s favourite toy was the blow-up Easter Bunny from the ring toss game – she still carries that bunny around for a bit every day.
We finished off Easter long weekend with a trip to Build-a-Bear where Bobby picked out a Sonic plushie that plays the bonus music and Cordelia picked out a pastel rainbow bear that plays ‘let it go’ but wears a pink Power Ranger costume. She is obsessed with the original Power Rangers, which is more than OK with the rest of us because the original Power Rangers are awesome.
And to make the weekend absolutely perfect, my husband and I went on our first date night in what feels like forever – dinner and floor seats to see John Mayer for our early anniversary gift to each other (10 years this May!), it was amazing.
I can’t wait for our next family long weekend. They are both growing up so fast and I just want to capture and soak up every second I can. This weekend we are hoping to finally spend some time outside and bought a new BBQ to get us into the summer spirit. How was your Easter?
