I’ve bought a few eyeshadow palettes over the past couple months and with the holiday season being so hectic I just didn’t find the time to post about them… one of those is the absolutely stunning Kat Von D Mi Vida Loca eyeshadow palette. When it was first released I didn’t think to much of it, it was beautiful to look at but I just wasn’t sure how often I would use it… but after seeing a few of Chelle’s looks I had to get my hands on it and thankfully it was still in stock in November when I picked it up.
This beauty has 31 shades: 7 neutral and 24 vibrant in the shape of a colour wheel. To say it’s big would be an understatement… It’s HUGE (see pic below with my hand on it) and is packaged like a record – the palette slips right out of the cover – definitely not great for travel.
I love the mix of mattes and shimmers and the layout is so pleasing to look at – it makes it extremely easy to put a look together. The matte shades definitely need a base like NYX Milk to make them pop but the swatches below are without any primer and a lot of them are still quite bold (for me anyway!).
I tend to shy away from bright colours in the winter but I am looking forward to playing a bit more when the sun comes out and the weather warms up.
The look below is with Legend, Harpsichord and Rewind – currently my go-to ‘I don’t know what makeup to wear today’ look, paired with KVD’s Lolita.
