mani monday – crabtree & evelyn peony with julep yumi

Engagement Ring Manicure - Crabtree & Evelyn Peony and Julep YumiHappy Monday everyone!! This week’s manicure is special. 4 years ago after returning to work from mat leave, I left my engagement ring on a side table and ended up throwing it away with a pile of kleenex. I was heartbroken. So since then I’ve only been wearing my wedding band – which was a very simple white gold band, but it was mine and I loved it. I still love it.

Fast forward to Friday. My amazing husband and I spent the night at the Fantasyland Hotel here in Edmonton and after getting ready to go for dinner he said to me ‘you look perfect, there’s only one thing missing…’ I assumed he meant my wedding band which I had left next to the bed and that he was going to grab it for me, but instead he came back with a little black box… opened it up… and I don’t want to type the words that came out of my mouth. (Something along the lines of ‘are you f’ing kidding me???’ followed by fighting back tears so I didn’t mess up my newly applied makeup). I didn’t even have time to realize he not only put a stunning diamond engagement ring on, he also put on the matching band. It’s so perfect I can’t put it in to words… Can’t. Stop. Staring.

So I had to pick a manicure to match – and I went with Crabtree & Evelyn Peony with some Julep Yumi on top.

  1. Love your manicure–and your ring set is BEAUTIFUL! Just a few months after I’d gotten engaged, one of the diamonds in my three-stone engagement ring fell out. I PANICKED and looked everywhere and was in tears by the time I called my finance. We never did find that diamond, but the jeweler was nice enough to replace the diamond for free. WHEW!

  2. That is so pretty. I lost feeling in my left hand and arm and my engagement ring slipped off and I lost it at Disneyland. It was bound to happen because I can’t feel it. I’ve tried other rings and they all slide off.

  3. Yes, I lost my wedding ring, but it was intentional. Ha. I did throw my retainer away once in a Kleenex. That absolutely sucked.

I know a few of my friends who have had this happen to them, so, you’re not the only one. Your new rings are beautiful.

  4. Ok, firstly I can’t even imagine how you must have felt when you realised you had thrown the ring away.

Secondly, the ring and band are incredible. What a darling husband you have!

Thirdly, the manicure is perfect for it! I was going to say it looks like the perfect mani for an engagement or wedding and then I saw the rings!!

  5. Rebekah! You’ve got to be kidding me! That is one of my fears, I hate wearing my ring (I only have the engagement ring cause my hands just don’t work with both *sad face*) so I take it off and leave it on the countertops and whatnot all the time, and I’m sure it’s going to happen someday.
Your man is a total stud, I love the way he worked that one out. ;P

  6. Such a gorgeous mani and I’m so happy for you! Thank goodness, I’ve never done anything so heartbreaking. Your husband picked an absolutely gorgeous set! You must be so thrilled 🙂
