beautyblender
Birchbox Canada March ReviewBirchbox Canada March ReviewAn edgeless, non-disposable, high-definition cosmetic sponge applicator.

I love love love beautyblenders and have at least one on my vanity at all times. It’s one of my favorite ways to apply foundation. If you’ve never used one before; you wet the sponge completely (it will double in size), ring out the extra moisture and then apply your foundation or concealer by bouncing the sponge all over your face to blend it in. It’s quick and looks fantastic. The only pain is washing it – but the solid beautyblender cleanser makes it a lot easier!

Harvey Prince Imperial Gardenia
Birchbox Canada March ReviewHarvey Prince has distilled the essence of Gardenia to prove that you can be as exquisite as a flower in full bloom.

I found this to be a bit overpowering to wear, which may be because it’s an EDP (eau de parfum) and I typically wear EDT (eau de toilette) – it’s like concentrated gardenias. I did spray some in my linen closet and opening the door later that day was really nice, so I think that’s how I’ll use the rest of the sample.

I honestly expected it to catch and pull when I put it on, but it was quite smooth. I’m not really sold on the colour, but I trying to be more adventurous with my lipstick so I will try to work it in!

Number 4™ Hydrating Shampoo
Birchbox Canada March ReviewWhether your hair is over-processed and brittle, or just chronically dry, this is the shampoo for you. The satiny formula is gentle enough to use every day and helps to soften and hydrate strands with natural essential oils and extracts. Free of parabens and sulfates, it foams into a rich lather that leaves hair soft and shiny.

I haven’t tried this yet as my hair isn’t dry or brittle right now. The cost is pretty insane though ($82 for 25 oz)

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (24-Hour Miracle Cream)
Birchbox Canada March ReviewTake a peek in any makeup artist’s kit and you’ll spy a well-loved tube of Embryolisse’s cult Lait-Crème Concentre. Since we’re just as picky as the pros, you’d better believe we’re fans too. This velvety moisturizer gives skin the ultimate silky finish, thanks to generous amounts of soothing shea butter and aloe vera. Plus, it doubles as a makeup remover, post-shave soother, and all-over body lotion. Who says beauty isn’t practical?

I haven’t tried this either, because it’s basically a 1x use product which isn’t enough for me to form a decent opinion. Instead for now it is in my samples stockpile.

Birchbox Canada March ReviewTL;DR – 2 thumbs up for this Birchbox, I would have been happy if the only thing it contained was the beautyblender. The rest was a bonus! I cannot wait to see what comes next month!

Do you use a beautyblender to apply your foundation?

  2. You have some good items in there, especially the beauty blender! I cancelled my subscription because I just wasn’t getting a great selection. Thanks for sharing:)

    1. I still haven’t tried it because the tube is so small I don’t know what to use it on! lol – would love to hear what you get in yours when it arrives!

    1. I’m hoping that because it’s still new to Canada they’ll have a few months of amazing boxes before they start being bland like ipsy became for me! Thanks Suz!

  3. That is a KILLER birchbox. I’ve never seen them be that good before!

The beauty blender is incredible to receive, that Embryolisse cream is wonderful (I use it regularly) although it’s a shame it’s only a one time use kind of product.

And I LOVE that lip colour!

  4. That lip color!! OMG! It’s gorgeous. On you!! Def a keeper 🙂 Maybe it’s a little outside your comfort zone, but isn’t part of make up supposed to be about experimentation? I guarantee that you’ll get tons of compliments wearing that shade out 🙂 I’m thinking I wanna pick up one for myself, lol but I have a terrible lipstick addiction I don’t need to feed!
