My holy grail foundation for a couple years now has been Maybelline’s Dream Wonder Fluid-Touch Foundation, so I was excited to test out their new Dream Velvet Foundation. I was sent 3 of the 12 shades: 10 – Porcelain Ivory, 60 – Sandy Beige, and 95 Coconut.
Maybelline’s first hydrating matte foundation for 100% velvet-smooth perfection. Unique gel-whipped formula. Ideal for normal to combination skin, medium coverage
Why You’ll Love It: This refreshing gel-whipped foundation leaves complexion perfected and smooth with a velvety, soft-matte finish while skin stays hydrated for 12 hours.
The consistency is quite thick, like mousse, and I found the best way to apply it was to put a bit on the back of my hand, dip my flat top kabuki brush in, dab it all over my face, and then blend. I always apply a base layer and then go in and add a bit more to blemishes and spots where I need a bit more coverage. With using the new Maybelline Master Fix setting spray it typically lasts all day for me, but the reviews are extremely mixed – with some people loving it and having no issues, and others experiencing oxidization throughout the day and problems blending.
Porcelain Ivory is closest to my winter skintone so that’s what I’m wearing below. Outside of adjusting levels to brighten the images a bit the photos are untouched (the before and after is a composite) and in the final pic I have used a bit of IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye under my eyes.
