I love testing out mascara’s. I’m the person who gets sucked in to the promises and false eyelash images expecting nice, long, thick, perfect looking lashes.
Maybelline’s new Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara is the newest in their line, and promises ‘layers of softer, denser lashes’ as the ‘Fanning Reservoir Brush envelops lashes with precious oil-infused formula from root-to-tip while fanning out lashes’. It comes in 3 shades in water-proof and washable.
First off – I love the matte black and shiny baby pink packaging, it’s really really pretty. The brush however isn’t my favorite.. I appreciate the concept of being able to use the thinner tip to apply to smaller lashes but I found with the very wet formula too much product ends up on the brush and I have to wipe a lot off before applying, or it clumps my lashes up with the first coat. Once I wipe it off it applies quite well, but I’m not a big fan of wasting product every time I use it, and the extra step of having to clean it off makes me less likely to reach for it over the other mascaras I have on the go.
It does hold the curl of my lashes throughout the day which is great, and it gives my lashes a nice natural look with one coat, and a bit more drama with two… so it isn’t a complete miss, it just isn’t as amazing as I had hoped it would be.
