Midnight Hour Beauty: Sloth, Greed, and the Art of Misdirection

Midnight Hour Beauty: Sloth, Greed, and the Art of Misdirection
I absolutely love being introduced to new brands, and when they are made in Canada it’s even better. Midnight Hour Beauty is a Canadian indie brand owned by fellow blogger Sarah who has recently re-opened her shop and is developing some beautiful new products that I am excited to share with you today!

Sloth is a rosey shade of pink that flatters every skin tone. It’s the perfect lipstick for those days when you want that “no makeup” look with little effort.

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, Natural Flavour, Mica, Iron Oxide Red, Titanium Dioxide

Sloth is without a doubt the perfect rosy-pink shade for “no makeup” days, and leaves my lips looking and feeling amazing. This formula feels more like a hydrating tinted lipbalm than a lipstick, and I think the “natural flavour” is peppermint oil, because I instantly feel that light cooling sensation that I love in a lipbalm. It lasts for about an hour before I feel the need to reapply, and I’ll definitely be purchasing this once it runs out because I absolutely love it.

Greed is a sheer gold shimmer with gold iridescence. It can be worn on its own or layered over another colour to add some luxury to your look.

Ingredients: Shea Butter, Beeswax, Candelilla Wax, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Avocado Oil, Vitamin E, Mica

Greed is the second shade in the Sins Collection and is set to be released February 27th. It feels slightly gritty as it’s being applied, but once it’s on I don’t notice it. It is fun to wear by itself, but I absolutely love it over a bright lipstick like in my second lip swatch above. Like Sloth, Greed lasts about an hour before I feel like I have to reapply.

Crazy 4 Crellies is joining with Polish ReVamped for an amazing mashup that is sure to mystify, amaze, and delight. Welcome to #CrellyCrate ReVamped! This March we are changing your perception of vampy and crelly finish polishes. Seven spectacular makers are honouring a very unique March holiday – Smoke and Mirrors Day (March 29th).

The Art of Misdirection is an exclusive lip colour inspired by Casino Royale. It’s an ultra hydrating rose pink lip tint that’s packed with iridescent gold shimmer. The gold shimmer makes it feel a bit gritty going on, but like Greed once it’s on it feels like a creamy lip balm. It’s similar to Sloth – leaning a bit on the peachier side, shimmery, and just as beautiful.

This will be part of the #CrellyCrate ReVamped box along with six other Canadian indie products for $50 (+shipping), and is available for pre-order March 1 – 10.

  1. Wow! The products look so underwhelming in the tube and are amazing on your lips! I’ll definitely have to pick up a couple of these. Not crazy about the names tho.
