my favourite scrubs

my favourite scrubsSorry it’s been so quiet around here lately – tons to post about and struggling to find the time to get it done. Aiming for 3 posts a week regularly starting this week *fingers crossed* beginning with the second post in my ‘Favourites’ series – last week I talked about my favourite blending brushes, this week I wanted to share my 4 favourite scrubs: KB Shimmer’s Relaxation Sugar Scrub, Fresh Sugar Lip Polish, Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment & Julep Brilliance Glycolic Hand Scrub.

KB Shimmer’s Relaxation Sugar Scrub
my favourite scrubsDry skin? Rough patches? Want to pamper your hands, body, mind and soul?

Home from work, boss man been riding you hard, you need to unwind, relax, enjoy life. The is the perfect scent to help you de-stress and unwind. Lavender and Sage combined with soft notes of Peppermint and Star Anise to round out this dupe of a popular B&BW scent. This is a strong unisex scent. A teal blue color is accented by blue and green jojoba beads.

A sinful mix of oils, cocoa and shea butters allow you to combine the scrub with water and with a gentle motion, form a lotion that leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth and soft while the sugar, seeds, and jojoba beads buff away the dead skin cells. This scrub will rinse clean and leave your skin smooth and soft, not sticky or greasy.

Not only does this feel amazing and leave my skin feeling wonderful… it smells amazing. We go through this quickly in our house because both my husband and I use it, thankfully Harlow & Co. ship extremely fast so I can order it as soon as I’m running low and never go without! It’s vegan, paraben free, formaldehyde free and comes in a few different scents – I have used this one and Pink Sugar and love them both! I just noticed on the site that this scent has been discontinued… so I’ll be stocking up!

Glamglow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
my favourite scrubsThis mud mask leaves skin noticeably radiant and glowing. It works with the body’s natural moisturizing collagen to provide gentle resurfacing exfoliation and helps to leave skin smoother, brighter, and softer. While providing tighter skin texture and tighter pores, it provides a more youthful appearance and absorbs impurities without removing natural oils.

I wrote a post about both the Youthmud and Supermud back in July 2014 so if you want to see action shots or a more in depth review definitely check that out. It’s a mask first, and a scrub second… and the scrub part is my favourite. I stick with purchasing the small container as I found the large version dried out before I had a chance to use it all – and it’s the same basic price overall. I use it once a week and it lasts about a month. My skin always feels fantastic when I’m done!

Julep Brilliance Glycolic Hand Scrub
my favourite scrubsmy favourite scrubsGentle enough to use every day, this dual-action exfoliating scrub instantly reveals brighter, smoother skin—like a facial for your hands! Natural apricot seeds whisk away dirt, oil, and dead skin cells while a potent concentration of glycolic acid works to fight signs of aging. 90% of users noticed softer, younger-looking skin after just one treatment.

This is the first hand scrub I ever purchased, and as long as it’s being produced it’s the only one I will ever need. I don’t typically even require lotion after using it because my hands feel so wonderfully soft. The packaging is perfect with a twist cap, I’ve never had an issue with it getting clogged up, and it smells amazing!

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish
my favourite scrubsThis unique formula is enriched with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes as it exfoliates and conditions for a smooth finish. It nourishes the lips with quick-absorbing meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed oils while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture. Lips are left smooth, protected, and hydrated.

A lot of times I just DIY my own lip scrub with brown sugar and coconut oil, but when this is available as a Sephora perk or in a value set I don’t hesitate to grab it. The only thing I don’t like about this is I have to rinse it off vs just licking it off like I do with my DIY scrub, but it works so well! I use this a couple times a week and my lips feel so amazing after each use.

  1. Have you tried the Shea Body Scrup from The Body Shop? It’s my absolute favourite! I also like the Satsuma Body Polish from The Body Shop – the smell is to die for and it is gentle enough for daily use.

    1. I haven’t used the Shea scrub but I’ve used the body butter and love it! I’ll have to check both of those out! Thank you for the recommendations Jessa!
