clinique cheek pop in ginger pop

clinique cheek pop in ginger popI picked up Clinique’s Ginger Pop in the spring with Nude Pop, and was waiting until the fall to use it – I took the pictures as soon as I got it, and swatched it shortly after… then put it in my blush drawer and forgot about it. Until today! I had originally planned for a pink makeup look (I promise this story is going somewhere), and broke out my ABH Modern Renaissance for the first time and for some reason I was drawn to the orange and golds instead… which then meant I needed to choose a different blush, opened my drawer, and BAM! Ginger Pop!

Discover pure, natural cheek color that looks virtually powderless. Its unique, patented technology transforms pure liquid pigment into a smooth, silky powder through a process of slow baking, leaving true color—from compact to cheeks. This silky smooth, stay-true formula creates a vibrant, healthy-looking glow without a trace of powder residue. It is 100 percent free of fragrance and ophthalmologist- and allergy-tested.

Ginger Pop is a reddened coral blush with a bit of shimmer. Wonderfully pigmented but I had no concern about overdoing it, it builds & blends effortlessly… and the gerber daisy motif paired with the clear packaging make it delightful to display on my vanity. 12 hours later it is still in place (which could be a mix of my blush, foundation, or finishing spray). I will be wearing this combo a lot this season, and Fig Pop is next on my list!

too faced chocolate bon bons

too faced chocolate bon bonsPart of my Sephora haul a couple weeks ago was this beautiful new Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette. I am absolutely in love with the shades, the packaging… and constantly smelling chocolate while doing my makeup just makes me happy.

It’s packaged in a light pink tin with a magnetic closure. I know a lot of people were turned off by the cutesy packaging but I think it’s lovely and because it stands out so much on my vanity I reach for it a lot when I’m not sure what I want to wear. I’m not a massive fan of the mirror, I wish that it just took up the whole inside lid and have found that the cardboard/mirror keeps falling off of my original (and not highly used) Chocolate Bar palette so I’m hoping this one holds on better. The heart shaped pans are adorable and still large enough that a brush fits nicely

As for the eyeshadows themselves, there are 16 x 0.03 oz shadows in a mix of matte and shimmer. This is one of the only palettes I own where I feel like I can wear every shade, and I have found them all extremely soft and very easy to blend. This has quickly become a new favourite. If you are looking to pick this up, definitely get it from Sephora as it’s $59 CAD there vs. $71 CAD on TooFaced.com

mac faux lipstick and soar lipliner

mac faux lipstick and soar liplinerPicked up two items I’ve been wanting to get my hands on for months… MAC Faux lipstick and Soar lipliner. I don’t typically wear lipliner but after seeing this pin I needed to have them!

Faux
mac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinerFaux is a muted mauve-pink lipstick with a satin finish. It is extremely creamy and has that lovely vanilla scent. I’m able to get about 2 hours of wear before I feel like I really need to reapply it, if I don’t drink or eat then it’s a lot longer. The only thing I wish is that MAC’s packaging was different – my collection is growing and the majority of them all look the same from the outside so it takes a bit to find the one I’m looking for (first world beauty blogger problems….)

Soar

The colour is beautiful on it’s own and I love that I can either cover my lips completely with it to darken Faux, or create an ombre lip with it.

The pics below are with Soar covering my lips completely before applying Faux, and paired with UD Naked3. I have a feeling I’ll go through these quickly as I’ve been wearing them almost non-stop!
