laura mercier eye art artist’s palette

Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist's PaletteI picked this beautiful Laura Mercier Eye Art Artist’s Palette up during the Sephora VIB sale a few weeks ago – it is a re-release/re-package from 2013 and while the full price tag made me choke a bit, at 15% off it wasn’t too bad.

The packaging is pretty and has a magnetic closure, but it’s cardboard – which I wasn’t expecting for a $70 palette. This is the most I think I’ve ever spent on one before, so I don’t know if this is a common thing? I was surprised by it.

The shadows themselves are quite nice and a great mix of shimmer and matte shades. They blend beautifully and I experienced very little fallout. It’s the only palette I have where I know I will use every shade regularly. The only shade that was a bit chalky is Violet Ink – but I find applying it on top of another shadow helps. The lightest 2 shades on both rows are strictly highlights and blending shades for me, I tried really hard to get Vanilla Nuts to show up but even right after applying I had a hard time seeing it.

Sparkling Dew as a base, Plum Smoke and Violet Ink in my crease, African Violet and Kir Royal on my lid, and Guava in the inner corner of my eyes.

Overall I am very happy I picked this up and highly recommend it!
