I’ve been using either Too Faced Better Than Sex or Urban Decay’s Perversion Mascara for quite a while now and while I love them both, I’m trying really really hard to spend less on makeup. I don’t mind spending more on an eyeshadow palette or powder that I know I can still use a year from now… but an opened tube of mascara should be replaced every three months, so I am on the hunt for a cheaper alternative, starting with L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara in Blackest Black.
I know it’s been quiet around here, I’ve been trying to play catch up in all aspects of life and I’m not quite there yet… So today I bring you a short review of one of my new favourite lipsticks – L’oreal Colour Riche Lip Colour in Berry Blush.
Indulge in desirable richness with our luxuriously rich color and intense hydration. Colour Riche® Lipcolour is richer, creamier and more moisturizing than ever before. Its rich formula is enriched with a combination of Omega-3 and Vitamin E and leaves your lips feeling moisturised.
The name sums up the colour perfectly – it provides a beautiful splash of berry colour to my lips. It has a Creamsheen type finish – not fully sheer, but creamy and glossy with decent pigmentation and I get about 1.5 hours of wear before I feel the need to reapply (a bit more if I don’t eat or drink). There is a bit of glitter which makes it feel gritty when you are applying it, but I don’t really notice it once it’s on. Like the rest of the L’oreal Colour Riche Lip Colours, it does have that sort of waxy/plastic scent that a lot of people are turned off by… and while I do prefer the vanilla scent of a MAC lipstick, or the citrus scent of the new Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks, for 1/3 of the price I’m okay with it!
I’m wearing it below with the UD x Gwen palette on my lids and Hourglass Ambient Flush on my cheeks ♥
If there’s one thing I can never have enough of, it’s nude lipstick… and I’ve been meaning to pick this one up for a while – L’Oreal Colour Riche: Jennifer’s Nude. Our skintone isn’t at all similar, but it’s JLo… I had to have it!
The packaging is beautiful… matte black and shiny gold are always a wonderful pair – and I love that it has JLo’s signature on it. I plan on picking up more and the signatures will make it a lot easier to find the one I’m looking for.
The lipstick is a medium nude with a hint of pink that I didn’t see when first swatching it but it shows on my lips. It is a bit sheer and if I don’t exfoliate first it makes any dryness on my lips more noticeable. (I should be exfoliating regularly anyway!)
It does have that ‘old lady lipstick’ smell, but it is nostalgic for me… I like it!
