September was a big month for the kids; Cordelia turned 4 and started ballet, and Bobby started Grade 3. I already feel like I took for granted how relaxed the summer was, it really didn’t feel that way at the time. We have settled into a pretty good routine though, and while it does feel like we aren’t accomplishing everything we’d like to each week… we are happy and (mostly) healthy so that’s all that matters.
Did this month disappear for anyone else? Feels like we just set the tree up. I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season. It’s been quiet on the blog because we’ve been enjoying some quality family time these past few weeks which has been wonderful. Every Christmas with the kids gets better and better, this was Cordi’s first year of really understanding what was going on and it was so much fun. She was insanely excited to meet Santa, and was excited every morning to find where the elves were hiding.
Christmas Eve they got to open a few presents from their far-away Grandparents as well as a couple movies (Finding Dory and Secret Life of Pets – both fabulous) and new jammies from their little elf friends, then we went over to my in-laws for the traditional munchie night – where we all make way too much food and have a few drinks. Christmas morning the kids rushed down to see what Santa had brought. We put on A Kitten’s Christmas and opened gifts, then packed up and headed over to my in-laws again for brunch, more festivities, and of course an amazing turkey dinner.
Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Sorry it’s been so quiet around here, it has been so busy and I haven’t had any time to put together content. I will find time this week though! Last week I had the pleasure of going on a field trip with Bobby’s kindergarten class to the Muttart Conservatory. They got to learn how to care for plants (specifically they one they got to take home), the stages of a ladybug, and then after looking at all the flowers, they got to release a ladybug. Bobby and his group named him Matt. Matt the Ladybug.
We got Bobby his first real bike (and Cordelia her first trike) and managed to go for a couple bikeride/walks. It’s so nice to be able to get outside and enjoy the sun after dinner now that it isn’t setting at 4pm. Bobby also had his first couple classes of Taekwondo and he’s loving it!
