mac faux lipstick and soar lipliner

mac faux lipstick and soar liplinerPicked up two items I’ve been wanting to get my hands on for months… MAC Faux lipstick and Soar lipliner. I don’t typically wear lipliner but after seeing this pin I needed to have them!

Faux
mac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinerFaux is a muted mauve-pink lipstick with a satin finish. It is extremely creamy and has that lovely vanilla scent. I’m able to get about 2 hours of wear before I feel like I really need to reapply it, if I don’t drink or eat then it’s a lot longer. The only thing I wish is that MAC’s packaging was different – my collection is growing and the majority of them all look the same from the outside so it takes a bit to find the one I’m looking for (first world beauty blogger problems….)

Soar
mac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinermac faux lipstick and soar liplinerSoar is a mid-tone pinkish brown lipliner that is extremely easy to apply without any tugging or pulling. The colour is beautiful on it’s own and I love that I can either cover my lips completely with it to darken Faux, or create an ombre lip with it.

The pics below are with Soar covering my lips completely before applying Faux, and paired with UD Naked3. I have a feeling I’ll go through these quickly as I’ve been wearing them almost non-stop!

MAC wash & dry haul

MAC Wash & DryHappy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend, I was too busy enjoying the sun with the family this weekend to do my nails – so I thought I’d take a page out of Julie @ Swatch and Review‘s book and do a MAC Monday instead! I know this came out after my no buy started – but this one time MAC LE needed to trump a no buy. I picked up 3 lip products – 2 lipsticks and 1 gloss, here they are:

MAC Crème D’Nude
Crème D’Nude is a light beige-pink nude with a creamsheen finish. I had hope when I first swatched it on my arm but it’s totally not the right shade for me – it makes me look like I’m dead… and even if it did work for me, my lips have been dry lately and it made them look even worse. I am going to try layering it with other shades, but I will definitely wait until my lips have healed and exfoliate before using it again. The packaging though… so pretty.

MAC Tumble Dry
Tumble Dry is a light peachy coral with a Lustre finish. I think the heavens opened up and left this on my doorstep. The colour, the finish… I absolutely love it. And the packaging just makes me happy. A lot easier to find in my purse than the typical black bullets.

MAC Domestic Diva
I needed a bright pink lipgloss for the summer so the timing for this was perfect. It’s a beautiful pink gloss with tons of shimmer. It is a bit sticky, not nearly as bad as some glosses… and it’s just so darn pretty I don’t even mind.

mac cinderella mini haul

MAC Cinderella Mini HaulHappy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. Ours didn’t go as planned as my husband wasn’t feeling well, but we have a long weekend coming up soon which will be welcomed! No mani this week as I was too busy taking pictures of the items I picked up from the stunning MAC Cinderella collection:

The most iconic Disney princess of all inspires a limited-edition colour collection magical enough to make all your dreams come true. Beloved for her kind heart and determined mind that dares to dream, Cinderella envisages enough makeup shades to fill a pumpkin carriage. All products are transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging that could rival the most regal of gowns.

I wish I could have bought it all… I’ve been drooling over it since they announced it, but I narrowed it down to 3. Total image overload… Sorrynotsorry!

MAC Cinderella Beauty Powder in Mystery Princess

Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging.

Unfortunately Cordelia got to this while I was taking pics! She was as excited as I was about it apparently. I am all about shimmer – and while on it’s own it isn’t much, this works wonderfully on top of matte blush for that extra glow. I did have scrape a bit off the top with a spoolie to get rid of the parts my daughter had touched as she was eating at the same time and it can gum up the powder – Prior to doing that it wasn’t transfering on to my brush or finger well for swatching, but since doing that it’s been great.

Available in two sweet hues with shimmering textures. Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging.

Semi-sheer golden nude with a Lustre finish – it’s got the coverage of a gloss, but in a lipstick form. Gives my lips just a touch of shimmer and colour.

MAC Cinderella Stroke of Midnight Eyeshadow

Transformed in specially designed pearlized light lavender blue packaging.

The only new shade in this palette is Stroke of Midnight, but I don’t own a lot of MAC shadows so that was okay with me. After using this palette pretty much non stop since I got it, I understand why people pay what they do for MAC shadows… they are fantastic. I didn’t experience any fallout, they blended beautifully, and I love the mix of finishes in this set.

Vapour – Peach pink with violet pearl (Velvet)
Phloof! – Frosted off white (frost)
Omega – Soft muted beige taupe (matte)
Quarry – Soft muted plum brown (matte)
Satin Taupe – Taupe with silver shimmer (Frost)
Stroke of Midnight – Black-plum with sparkle pearl (Velvet)
