Happy Monday everyone! Decided to switch up the shape of my nails, though they still need to grow out a bit more. This is probably one of my least helpful mani monday’s, because I pulled out an old favourite, Color Club Wild at Heart (which unfortunately is now discontinued), and topped it with some silver nail stickers, which I think are from essence but I’ve had them for years and there’s nothing on the sticker sheet. I’ll try to use products I can actually link to next week haha.
My first mani monday of 2016! Honestly I haven’t even painted my nails since before Christmas, so I was excited to receive this adorable little package from Crabtree & Evelyn. They sent over 4 shades of their Neil Lacquers:
Beautyberry: When cheerful pinks mingle with bold reds, the festivities begin. Our brilliantly bright and festive shade is always the life of the party.
Orchid: Vibrant, bold purple hue is as wild and enchanting as the flower that inspired it. This fast-drying polish glides on smoothly.
Cranberry: We’ve added a bit of magic to the classic crimson red, creating a perfectly bold, glamourous and fresh colour for your nails.
Wine: An enchanting blend of opulent, deep reds create an intoxicating balance that pares perfectly with your party dress.
All 4 provided almost full coverage in 1 coat. The brush is small and firm and makes it very easy to apply without making a mess – typically after a long hiatus I feel like I’m starting over and end up spending more time cleaning up than applying nail polish, but I had next to none.
Swatches below are with 1 coat and with the flash on (darn sun setting at 5pm) – so they are a bit darker in person. I wouldn’t be able to choose a favourite of the 4, and they are absolutely perfect for Valentine’s day which is already somehow less than a month away!
All comments and opinions are honest and my own.
Happy Mani Monday all! I ordered KBShimmer’s Happily Ever Aster a while ago and have wanted to do this manicure ever since. It turned out exactly how I had hoped it would.
I started with 3 coats of Essie’s East Hampton Cottage (which they describe as a ‘beachy sand pink’ but I would call it a light neutral sand with shimmer.), then using the recommended ‘dab and spread’ method, I would dab a bit of Happily Ever Aster on to the base of my nail, and spread it around with an art brush, letting it dry slightly and repeating until I was happy. There is a lot of glitter in this polish so it didn’t take long at all. Topped with 2 coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.
