The Body Shop Drops of Youth

the body shop drops of youth
I was introduced to The Body Shop Drops of Youth line back in 2015 and like almost all products from The Body Shop, they were an instant hit. One of the products I reviewed then, (the Youth Concentrate) is also below… but the packaging has changed and because this is my current routine I wanted to include it again.

I had been using Murad’s White Brilliance line which I love, but my bank account does not. I still use the Murad White Brilliance Cleanser with my Clarisonic, but with my resolution of simplifying skincare I am going to try and stick with these because my skin feels great, and they are more budget-friendly. I have been using all three of these since the middle of November, so while the originals were PR samples, the photos are of the new ones I bought as I was almost out of the cream and new products photograph better.

lise watier hydra-protective comforting creme

lise watier hydraforce hydra-protective comforting cremeI recently signed up for GlamSense through TopBox and was selected to test out the new Lise Watier Hydraforce Hydra-Protective Comforting Creme. I was really intrigued when I received the box because it included a hydration tool that I could plug in to my phone and test my skin’s hydration levels using an app.

The formula’s effectiveness lies on the remarkable power of Gaspé Algae Extract. A survivor of harsh environments, the Gaspé algae has developed a highly efficient resistance system, enabling it to thrive in severe conditions. Its extract guarantees the skin’s global hydration, transforming it into a veritable defensive shield

The creme itself smells like water lotus – I absolutely love it but if you are bothered by scents you might want to avoid this. It fades once it’s applied and the lightweight cream absorbs very quick in to my skin while leaving it feeling really soft. I haven’t experienced any breakouts or irritation from it, but my skin rarely reacts to new products.

As for the app – The first time I downloaded it it didn’t work, but once I removed and reinstalled I was able to get readings within seconds. I tested it on my hands and on my cheeks about an hour after having a shower, then again after applying the cream, and was impressed that the hydration tool and app actually worked. I will note that I did also test my regular lotion and the results were comparable, but the weather has been pretty mild lately so I can’t speak to whether or not this performs better in harsh conditions. lise watier hydraforce hydra-protective comforting cremelise watier hydraforce hydra-protective comforting creme

Lise Watier Hydraforce Hydra-Protective Comforting Creme retails for $45 for 45ml which is a bit too much for me to use regularly unfortunately, but if you can swing it and love the scent of water lotus… I highly recommend it. And if you are interested in checking out your hydration levels, you can look here for when the HydraForce team will be in your area, or find a point of sale near you.

fresh rose floral toner

fresh rose tonerOh Fresh Rose Floral Toner how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…

♥ When I wake up late in the morning and need a quick pick me up before applying my makeup – the refreshing mist and amazing rose scent makes me happy.
♥ When I need to apply eyeshadow with a wet brush, a quick spritz works perfectly.
♥ When I want to finish off my makeup after applying powder, a few pumps quickly set in and leave me feeling fabulous.
♥ After washing my face at night I spray some on before applying my serum and moisturizer and it instantly makes my skin feel revitalized.

What it is:
An alcohol-free blend of hydrating and toning floral waters, collected and extracted in Grasse, France.

What it is formulated to do:
This gentle floral water hydrates the skin for a plump and toned complexion. Regular use after cleansing imparts a healthy-looking glow while the natural aromatic adds a mood-enhancing dimension to the experience. Use it to revitalize the skin throughout the day, set makeup, and soothe irritations.

Ingredients: -100% Pure Rosewater: Calms and tones the skin. Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Pentylene Glycol, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Citronellol, Geraniol, Phenoxyethanol.

Seriously… I love this product. It may seem pricy at $47.00 CAD, but you get 250 ml which works out to $0.18 / ml (MAC Fix+ is $26.00 for 100 ml – $0.26 / ml) I bought this during the VIB sale back in November and have used it constantly, and I’m only about 1/3 of the way through the bottle. The rose scent is so calming and I love how it leaves my skin feeling. If you love the scent of roses and are looking for a multi-use spray like this… definitely give it a try next time you are in Sephora. The only thing I wish is that I could buy this in a travel size so I could stash it in my purse!
