the body shop instablur – 5-action perfector

The Body Shop InstaBlur - 5-Action PerfectorI’m still really new to The Body Shop’s makeup line, but I am really impressed with Instablur, their 5-action Perfector. Their instructions say to dab it on cheeks, skin, forehead and nose and then blend but I found it easier to sorta smush it with my fingers and then apply. The consistency of it is a little odd at first, it’s very thick and seems like it would be difficult to spread. It isn’t, but it does stick together well so it can fall off your finger in a big clump if that makes sense. Once it was on though, my skin felt amazing.

The pics below are on my hand and the difference in the fine lines is impressive. It’s also made with Community Fair Trade marula oil which is fantastic!

  1. I think this may be my next primer to check out! I’m currently scraping what’s last of my Lancome primer, which is super awesome, but I like trying new things since I’m a big makeup hoarder haha!

  2. Looks and sounds interesting! In terms of consistency, it actually looks similar to the Smashbox primer… do you know if it is? I haven’t used Body Shop products before, but I’ll wander in to check this out sometime.. šŸ™‚

    1. I’ve honestly only ever tried the smashbox primer in a sample, but this is the thickest primer I’ve ever used. Once it’s on it feels sort of like Benefit’s POREfessional – I’m going to do a comparison between those 2 soon, if that helps?

  3. I really love their Tea Tree+ BB Cream, as well as their honey bronzer as far as their makeup products go. Honeymania is to die for as far as their bath and body line goes. I also love the Setsuma scent which is like a tangerine/orange flavor. Overall the body shop is pretty freaking awesome and I am definitely a lifetime customer to their store!

  4. Looks very good – I have to say I’ve been using the benefit primer and not been all that impressed with it. Laura Mercier is my fave! I’m not too keen on Body Shop since they changed their ethics – they’ve moved away from what they were set up to be by Anita Roddick, but the product does sound fab šŸ™‚
