urban decay urban spectrum palette

urban decay spectrum paletteHappy last monday of September! This month flew by so quick.. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away – yikes! I haven’t had the time or desire really to paint my nails lately, so instead of a mani monday today, I have swatches of one of my birthday presents – Urban Decay’s Urban Spectrum Eyeshadow Palette.

I was sold the moment I saw the packaging. The filigreed edges on the lid, the UD jewel on top… it’s a thing of beauty, and the way the eyeshadows are laid out is extremely pleasing. Unlike any other palette I have, the lid just lifts right off so I have to regularly remind myself to grab it from the top and bottom and not the sides. I forgot to take a pic, but the eyeshadow tray also comes out, and then the box is velvet lined so you can use it long after you’ve used up all of the eyeshadow.

The palette itself has 5 new shades, 4 current shades, and 6 ‘returning favorites’ for a total of 15 x 0.05 oz shadows.

Protest (golden forest green shimmer) – Permanent
Junkie (green teal shimmer) – LE
Deep End (bright teal shimmer) – Permanent
Madness (bright metallic blue shimmer with micro-glitter) – LE
Evidence (deep navy blue shimmer) – Permanent
Prank (deep navy matte with turquoise pearl) – LE
Omen (bright metallic purple with blue shift) – Permanent
Flashback (bright deep purple with pink sparkle) – LE
Voodoo (metallic purple shimmer with micro-glitter) – LE
Flatline (metallic pale pink) – LE
Bordello (pale mauve shimmer with micro-glitter) – Permanent
Backlash (bright pink with orange pearl) – LE
Daybreak (soft bronze with silver glitter) – LE
Burn (medium golden brown shimmer) – LE
West (medium golden brown shimmer) – LE

There are no matte shades, which is fine with me because I love shimmery eyes, but if you don’t… it’s something to be aware of. There are a few shades I am noticing that need a base like NYX Milk – one of them being Omen which I am wearing in the look below, it didn’t seem to matter how much I applied I felt like I needed more. Overall though I am extremely happy I went ahead and splurged on this palette. Right now it is available for VIB and Rouge at Sephora, but will be available to everyone soon.urban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay spectrum paletteurban decay urban spectrum paletteurban decay urban spectrum

  1. Oh my god… the look your created is sooo ethereal. I love it! I finally swatched this yesterday, although I have yet to play with the shades. I think I definitely prefer the colours in this one over the Vice 4 which seems to have such a weird array of colours.

    1. Thank you ♥ I’m actually sort of disappointed in the Vice 4 palette… I just don’t feel pulled in to using it even though I’m purposely leaving it on my vanity so that I will use it. When I do, it’s a shade here… or a shade there… never the entire palette for 1 look.

  2. This is soooooo pretty. I love the look you created with it – those colours were the ones that had me drooling the most in the palette. Though I am a sucker for purple. Can’t wait to see you play with it some more!

  3. This looks amazing. I keep trying to talk myself out of buying this palette and every time I see your pictures, I think I need it. Btw, your photos are AH-mazing!
