valentine’s day makeup with hard candy

valentine's day makeup with hard candyWith Valentine’s day just around the corner, I thought it would be fun to put together a pink/rose gold makeup look with some of the beautiful Hard Candy products I received recently. But first… some swatches!

Fierce Effects – Heart and Soul
valentine's day makeup with hard candyvalentine's day makeup with hard candyThis high intensity eyeshadow which is not a powder, nor a cream acts like an intense, luminous color shield. Each shade is intensified with a second pigment for a multi-dimensional pearl blend. Intense staying power polymers attract color, while cushiony silk pigments caress eyelid for comfortable long wear.

The packaging reminds me of the L’Oreal Colour Infallible line. I don’t think they had the smoothest ride to get here as they made quite a mess when I opened them, but they are extremely buttery and I am really happy with the pigmentation and how well they blend.

All Matte Up – Mattely in Love
valentine's day makeup with hard candyvalentine's day makeup with hard candyvalentine's day makeup with hard candyA matte lip crayon that gives a crushed velvet look and feel while having the hydrating benefits of a balm and the long wear power of stain. Long wear color is wrapped in a balm-like base that leaves lips feeling soft and kissable all day. Formula contains tropical butters and oils to moisturize while velvety smooth powders blur and fill in fine lines. The precision tip lines lips and fills them with hydrating color to accentuate your pout. The retractable pencil never has you digging for a sharpener again!

I cannot for the life of me capture this shade properly – I tried on multiple days with multiple settings and it looks too red… it’s a bit more pink than these show. It was very easy to apply and didn’t pull or tug, and it stayed in place for about 4 hours before I really felt I needed to reapply.

Plumping Serum – Crush on You

I love a good lipgloss – and this quickly became one of my favourites. While I don’t feel like it made my lips fuller (they are decently full on their own), it has that cooling sensation that I find satisfying, and provided a beautiful glossy look without being sticky.

Sheer Glow All The Way – Blushing Babe

Infused with 24-karat gold for a million dollar look! Also available in two shades of tinted sunless tanners to instantly bronze and build a lasting tan.

If this product had been around when I was a teenager I would have gone through two bottles a week. I want to constantly apply it to every publically visible part of my body. I love how it makes my skin look… when mixed in with foundation or just worn on its own. I couldn’t get a good picture of it blended in, but I feel like Edward standing in the sunlight!

And for the look I also used the pink half of their Pinking of You palette which I absolutely adore.

Lips
I used just a bit of the All Matte Up – Mattely in Love and then applied Plumping Serum – Crush on You on top.

Eyes
I started with a NYX Milk base and then using the Pinking of You palette I applied the 2nd shade from the right all over the inner half of my eyelid, and the rightmost shade to the outer half of my eyelid. I then took the 4th shade from the right (the burgundy shade) and applied it on the outer third and along my bottom lash line.

I also used the Black shade from the Fierce Effects – Heart and Soul duo over my eyeliner.s

Face
I mixed a bit of the Sheer Glow All The Way – Blushing Babe in with my liquid foundation and really love the subtle glow effect it gave!

  1. There is something about the cheapness of the brand that has always turned me off, but I’ve seen quite a few rave reviews about it lately. You look gorgeous in the pictures!

    1. Honestly before I had reviewed a few of their products in October I felt the same, It just wasn’t a line that I would have thought to really look at – but I have been really impressed with the quality of their products and it has totally changed my mind! (Especially the Pinking of You palette – it’s one of my favourites!)
