mani monday – kbshimmer happily ever aster

Mani Monday - KBShimmer Happily Ever AsterHappy Mani Monday all! I ordered KBShimmer’s Happily Ever Aster a while ago and have wanted to do this manicure ever since. It turned out exactly how I had hoped it would.

When the weather turns warm, and the spring flowers are a fading memory, I turn to the aster for bright pops of color. With it’s daisy like petals, and shades of blue, purple, white and pink, this later bloomer was the inspiration for Happily Ever Aster. Periwinkle, light aqua blue, purple, lavender and white glitters swim in a clear base surrounded by tiny bits of holographic glitters for a sparkling top coat.

I started with 3 coats of Essie’s East Hampton Cottage (which they describe as a ‘beachy sand pink’ but I would call it a light neutral sand with shimmer.), then using the recommended ‘dab and spread’ method, I would dab a bit of Happily Ever Aster on to the base of my nail, and spread it around with an art brush, letting it dry slightly and repeating until I was happy. There is a lot of glitter in this polish so it didn’t take long at all. Topped with 2 coats of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

    1. What I typically do is soak a cotton ball in acetone and press it on to my nail, wrap it tight with tin foil and leave it for 5ish minutes (sometimes longer depending on how much polish is on),squeeze and twist to remove and it should take almost all of it off. Then just condition and lotion the bejeebles out of your hands because the acetone is quite drying!

  1. Oh, I love that base coat and the glitter. I have had glitter polish like that come off so easily. It would just peel right off in a one sheet. Does this do that to you?
