jord cora purpleheart & mother of pearl watch

jord cora purpleheart & mother of pearl mani mondayYesterday was Thanksgiving so I am doing my #manimonday on a Tuesday this week. This manicure was inspired by one of the prettiest things I have ever put on my wrist – the JORD Cora Purpleheart & Mother of Pearl wood watch.

I’ve been staring at this watch for months, so when I was offered the opportunity to review it I literally squealed with delight. Even the packaging is beautiful – it came in an adorable embossed wooden box with a slide-off lid, revealing the stunning Cora wood watch on a display pillow… which my daughter quickly took to use as a seat cushion.

The watch is very light – I have had a lot of people ask to look at it over the past few weeks and it is almost always the first comment. The face is made from sapphire glass which is extremely scratch resistant, and the mother of pearl face has 8 Swarovski crystals around the dial and a small display window so you can see the inner workings. For any watch geeks out there, the watch is powered by a SEA-GULL ST6103K, it is self-winding and the power reserve is 36 hours. I’ve only had to re-set it once when I didn’t wear it for a weekend. You can see the movement through the back display as well, and I would be lying if I said I haven’t spent time sitting and shaking it to watch the self-winding at work.

I was a little concerned that it would be bulky – but it fits my wrist perfectly and this matches almost everything in my closet beautifully. It also compliments my wedding ring set which is typically the only other standard piece of jewelry I wear.

For my JORD Cora Purpleheart & Mother of Pearl inspired manicure – I used OPI Midnight in Moscow on my thumb, index and pinkie fingers, and C&E Snowdrop topped with China Glaze Platinum Pearl on my ring and middle fingers. I used crystals from the KISS Salon Secrets Luxe Accents nail kit and topped it all with Essie’s Matte About You.

mani monday – #hepicksmypolish

Happy Monday!! For the first time in what I’m sure was over a month, I was able to take 30 minutes and paint my nails. It was a lot more difficult than I remember and I had a lot more cleanup to do than normal haha. I haven’t done a #HePicksMyPolish challenge in a long time, so I thought I would let my husband pick the colours. He went with 2 ORLY’s Glowstick and one of the grey’s (Cement the Deal I think) from OPI’s 50 Shades of Grey mini set. I haven’t even been putting Nail Envy on as of late, so I started with 2 coats of that, alternated Glowstick and Cement the Deal, a few dots, some KB Shimmer Clearly on Top and that’s my mani for the week!

I had a really difficult time capturing the right colours with my camera… Glowstick looks exactly like it’s name… like you broke a green/yellow glowstick on your nails – and Cement the Deal is a darker blueish grey.greygreenmanimonday2greygreenmanimonday3greygreenmanimonday4greygreenmanimondayWhat’s on your nails this week?

mani monday on a tuesday – pink, black and white graffiti

Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend (long one if you were lucky enough to have it!) – Uploading this today as we were enjoying some much needed family time yesterday. Super quick manicure this week – started with a couple coats of Crabtree & Evelyn’s Petal Pink Nail Lacquer, and then used Sephora’s Chaotic and OPI’s On Pinks & Needles for a fun Graffiti-Bomb look. I used two coats of each on my right hand, and one of each on my left. Topped as always with KBShimmer’s Clearly On Top.
